[SS Fed] Regulatory Authority

Course Description

The enactment of the Dodd-Frank Act brought about many changes that greatly altered the face of the mortgage industry. One of the most significant of these changes was the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which became the primary entity in charge of implementing and enforcing most of the provisions of federal lending and consumer protection laws, many of which were previously overseen by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This course provides a review of the authority of the CFPB, as well as the functions and remaining authority of HUD.
