Mortgage CE Season is Heating Up

On July 14, 2018 the NMLS placed a license item on every Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license for those individuals who have not yet completed their Continuing Education (CE) requirement for 2018. NMLS license items are used to inform recipients of missing requirements or deficiencies within their NMLS record.

Don’t forget to to complete your annual state required mortgage CE soon in order to renew your license for 2019. Currently, thirty-six state agencies have required state-specific education. Be sure and check the NMLS state-specific education requirements.

Waiting too long to complete your mortgage CE may affect your ability to transact business right away since your state regulator will still need to approve your mortgage license!

The 2018 NMLS Mortgage CE deadlines:
SMART Deadline: Friday, December 14
At-Risk-To-Miss Deadline: Friday, December 21
Guaranteed to Miss Renewal Deadline: Monday, December 31

While many states have a December 31st deadline to complete the CE requirement, the below states have earlier deadlines:
Delaware: December 1st
District of Columbia: November 1st
Georgia: October 31st
Idaho: December 1st
Iowa: December 1st
Kansas: December 1st
Kentucky: November 30th
Puerto Rico: December 1st
Utah-DRE: December 15th
Vermont: December 1st
Washington: December 15th
West Virginia: November 1st

Your state deadline is fast approaching! Don’t allow your license to lapse. Purchase your mortgage CE courses today.
