— Luke Completed Late CE
If you missed your annual mortgage continuing education deadline, you’re required to complete Late CE before your MLO license renewal can be processed. Late CE is mandatory for any Mortgage Loan Originator who did not finish their SAFE Act continuing education hours during the standard renewal period.
Our NMLS-approved Late CE courses meet all SAFE Act standards and include instant NMLS reporting once completed.
We've got answers to the most commonly asked late continuing education (CE) questions.
Every state requires at least 8 hours of national NMLS-approved late continuing education. Some states require additional late CE hours specific to the state. To find your required state-specific training, be sure to select each state you wish to renew your license in.
The SAFE Act does not permit licensed MLOs to complete the same course in two successive renewals. Fortunately, we create new courses every year, meaning you'll always get the most up-to-date education and you will never have to worry about whether or not you're meeting the "successive years" rule.
Late CE is required when an MLO does not complete their annual continuing education on time and must complete “reinstatement” hours to renew their mortgage loan originator license.
Yes. Late CE courses are specially designated as “Reinstatement (Late CE)” within NMLS and only these courses will satisfy Late CE requirements.
