Webinars to focus on cybersecurity issues

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council announced it will host two webinars for financial institutions in October on cybersecurity issues, in recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

According to an FFIEC news release, topics and dates of the webinars are:

Mobile Financial Services — Appendix E of the Retail Payment System Booklet, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. ET. On April 29, the FFIEC member agencies updated the Information Technology examination handbook to address financial institutions’ use of new and emerging technologies, specifically the proliferation and technological advancements in the use and capabilities of mobile devices with respect to financial services. The webinar will provide financial institutions with an overview of the contents of Appendix E of the booklet and an opportunity to receive answers to questions regarding mobile financial services. Registration is available at https://www.webcaster4.com/Webcast/Page/583/17539.

Threat Intelligence and Getting the Most Out of Your FS-ISAC Membership, Oct. 31, 1 p.m. ET. On Nov. 3, 2014, the FFIEC members agencies issued a statement on Cybersecurity Threat and Vulnerability Monitoring and Sharing that encouraged financial institutions to join the Financial Services-Information Sharing and Analysis Center. The webinar will feature a guest speaker from the center who will provide tips for financial institutions on how to manage the information flow and filter information through the membership portal. Registration is available at https://www.webcaster4.com/Webcast/Page/583/17540.
